Boston Marriage by David Mamet follows Anna and Claire, two bantering,
scheming ladies of fashion living on the fringe of upper-class society in the
late 19th century. As the two young women exchange barbs and take turns taunting
Anna's hapless parlor maid, Claire's young inamorata suddenly appears, setting
off a crisis that threatens the women's future. Playwright David Mamet brings
his trademark tart dialogue and impeccable plotting, spiced with Wildean wit to
create this wickedly funny comedy.
Casting:
3 women (20–45 years old).
AUDITION PROCESS
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
PRODUCTION TEAM:
Directed by Deborah A. Niezgoda, who is new to ESP but who has directed over
twenty productions in a number of theater companies in the Washington DC metro
area.
The Elden Street Players (ESP) is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit, community
theater. All roles are volunteer positions and un-paid.
