WIT CAST

Ann Colly (Susie Monahan, R.N., B.S.N.) Ann is delighted to be back at ESP and grateful for the opportunity to work under the direction of Gloria. Ann began acting in community theatre 8 years ago at VTC where she portrayed the role of Cecile Volanges in Les Liaisons Dangereuses and later, in their production of Taking Leave as Liz. Her other ESP stage credits include Molly in The Smell of the Kill, Beth in Dinner With Friends, Harley Davidson/Melinda in Accomplice and Cora in The Iceman Cometh. Much appreciation to the cast and crew for making this such a memorable experience. To my family and Jamie, I am truly blessed to have your love and endless support.

Mickey DeVito (Ensemble) Mickey is extremely excited to be working with Gloria DuGan on his first ESP main stage show. Mickey just finished the very successful run of playing the wolf in Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf for ESP’s Theatre for Young Audiences, and is currently assisting with the special effects on Taking Flight Theatre Company’s production of Evil Dead: The Musical. Mickey looks forward to many future productions in Northern Virginia Community Theatre, and with the Elden Street Players. Mickey would like to thank his mother, father, and sister for unending support; as well as Babs for her love and inspiration!

Susan d. Garvey (Professor E.M. Ashford) Susan is delighted to be back on stage at ESP and to be part of this outstanding cast under the direction of Gloria DuGan. Earlier this year, Susan was seen in VTC’s production, Colder Than Here, as Myra, a woman knowingly facing death due to cancer, and the affects on her family. Together they coped through humor and tears, as do many families when faced with this disease. Medical advancements through cancer research provide Hope that one day we will find the cure and our world will be cancer-free. This performance is dedicated to caring professionals, cancer patients, survivors and their families, with heartfelt love and admiration.

Buz Gibson (Dr. Kelekian, Mr. Bearing) Buz is happy to be back in Northern Virginia and Elden Street after a 12 year absence. His Elden Street credits include All the Kings Men also directed by Gloria DuGan and Medea. Other credits include Elyot in Private Lives, multiple roles in The Good Doctor by Neil Simon, and The Heiress. Buz would like to thank his wife Cindy for tolerating all the madness and Gloria for seeing what she sees.

Theresa Hyatte (Ensemble) Theresa is pleased to be making her debut with the Elden Street Players and working with Gloria DuGan for the first time. She is a recent graduate from The Honors Conservatory at the Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts (Class of 2009), which study culminated with her playing the role of Rosemary in Rosemary with Ginger. I thank my husband and son for their love and support as I embark on this new adventure.

Lorraine Magee (Vivian Bearing) Lorraine is happy to be back at ESP where she has appeared in The Smell of the Kill (Nikki) and The Memory of Water (Theresa). Other favorite roles during her twelve years in Washington area community theater include the title characters in The Heidi Chronicles (FP) and The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife (DS), as well as Lotty in Enchanted April (VTC), Ann Morrow Lindberg and others in Hauptmann (PCP) and Sheila in A Chorus Line (RCP). Lorraine also works behind the scenes as a director (most recently, Colder Than Here at VTC), choreographer (up next: Rent at ESP), and occasionally in other capacities. Many thanks to Gloria for this amazing opportunity, to everyone involved in the show for their encouragement and support, and to all the other friends who provided guidance and assistance on the journey. Lorraine dedicates this performance to Harriet Kendall Kessler.

Christine Nolan (Ensemble) Christine is thrilled to be back on stage after a 13 year hiatus (with the exception of a brief, bloody, but memorable role in ESP’s 2008 production of Shining City). Prior to that, she appeared both locally and in Washington State in more than a dozen plays, dinner and repertory theater productions, and several TV commercials. The last 13 years have seen her supporting theater behind the scenes by judging (both for WATCH and ACT), stage managing, running light boards, sewing costumes, creating props and set dressing pieces, etc. She’d like to say a special “thank you” to Ian and Angie for giving her the courage and confidence to get back up on stage after all this time, and to Gloria for giving her the opportunity to do so.

Michael Sherman (Dr. Jason Posner) Michael is making his ninth appearance with the Elden Street Players, where he was last seen as Dr. Tambourri in Passion. Other ESP roles have included Yvon in Art, Rocky in The Iceman Cometh, Sammy in Blood Brothers, and the title troll in TFYA’s Rumplestiltskin. Other area credits include John Buchanan in The Eccentricities of a Nightingale (TACT), Andrew Rally in I Hate Hamlet (LTA – nominated for Best Actor), and John in Snowangel (NVTA One-Acts – nominated for Best Actor). Michael is the graphic artist for The American Century Theater and has designed numerous graphics for ESP and TFYA, including this production of W;t and last season’s Passion, as well as the title art pieces for The Musical of Musicals: The Musical!
