Audition Dates & Times: Monday & Tuesday, November 16 & 17
        (If necessary, callbacks on the 18th)

Time:
7:00-8:30pm

Location: Hutchison Elementary School (13209 Parcher Avenue, Herndon, VA 20170)

Audition Format/Preparation:

Cold readings from the script.
Bring any conflicts from Monday, November 23rd through Sunday, January 24th. (conflicts during tech week 1/25-1/29 are not accepted)

Casting:

actors ages 16 and up
Character Descriptions:
Story Teller / Fairy Godperson – female or male; age 30-50
Story Teller – Game show host
Fairy Godperson – Cool, hip, edgy
King – male; age 40+. Affable, not a very serious King
Prince – male; age 30-45. Childlike quality; transitions to suave and cool
Motherella – female; age 40-50. Not the stereotypical stepmother, oblivious, one fry short of a Happy Meal
Mazzarella – female; age 16-25. Deadpan, uninterested, would rather be anywhere else
Godzella – female; age 16-25. Over the top, overly confident, she believes her own press
Cinderella – female; age 25-30. Sharp as a tack but plays down her intelligence. Quietly confident spitfire.

About the Director:   
   
Gina Gabay has been a Producer of stage productions in the Metropolitan DC area over the past 18 years. For the past five years, her time has been solely dedicated to The Elden Street Players, serving on the Board of Directors and producing The Mystery of Irma Vep, Smell of the Kill, Greater Tuna, Soccer Moms and Anne of Green Gables. CINDERELLA WORE COMBAT BOOTS marks Gina's first spin behind the wheel of the Director seat and she's delighted for the opportunity to work with an outstanding theater company and seasoned crew.

About the show:  
   
CINDERELLA WORE COMBAT BOOTS was first presented by Off Center Theatre in 1966 at Good Shepherd-Faith Presbyterian Church in New York City. The play was highly acclaimed and moved from the Church to the Streets of New York where it was joyfully performed in every weird and wonderful neighborhood of that imcomparable City. The play stands the test of time and brings the audience along for a joyful, fun, weird and wonderful experience!

About the production:

Rehearsal schedule will be based on actor availability, but will likely be Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Tech week begins January 23rd. Opening performance is January 30th. Closing performance is February 14th.
Saturday performances are at 11:00 am and again at 2:00 pm.
Sunday performances are at 12:00 pm on January 31st, and at 2:00 pm on February 7th and 14th.
ALL cast members and technical staff are required to participate in strike at 4:00 pm on February 15th.

All roles are volunteer positions.
